The place has a nice, old feel but the food is sub par and priced too high. We were both disappointed with the small portions and boring flavors. There was nothing interesting about the food. It came out on several different plates, nothing was seasoned and again, just a real disappointment overall. It was easily our least favorite meal out of 10 nights on our trip. And it costs the most! And we were still hungry after we were done! Totally skip this place. Oh, and they didn't clean or replace anything on the table between the previous guest and us - not OK for Covid times.

We really would have loved to have dinner there ... After we were told in a nasty tone at the door that we had to make a reservation, were left standing and didn't even have the opportunity to say a word about it or to be able to make reservations for later, we decided on other restaurants in the course of the week. Too bad.

Good German beers

Delicious food, small menu. Portions not very big but delicious. Everything freshly prepared. Nice hosts

Would love to come again because the food is very, very good, but the choice of music is so terrible that I will never come back.

I would like to send in advance that at the moment there are a lot of guests on the Rhine due to the corona restrictions. Nevertheless, as a holidaymaker, one would wish that one would be served in a friendly manner and that the food would also taste good. There is still room for improvement here.

Good German food, friendly service, nice wine. Very pleasant terrace seating. A nice ambience inside too but because of corona restrictions we preferred outside.

simple, good german food. lovely staff and beautiful garden. no great beer selection but this is a wine region ... therefore >>> GREAT WINES! try some of the "other" dishes, they are excellent! i mean come on, how many Schnitzel can you eat!?

Unfortunately too expensive for the portions. Taste is good. Eating together was also not possible because the food came too long.

We sat at a table with 3 people that was only accessible from the street. The waitress informed us that we had to go through the main entrance and register there. So back on the street to the main entrance, the table with the forms very unstable, so the whole thing was taken to the table, also across the street, of course. After a while the waitress came to take the order. 3 large wine spritzers ordered, 3 small ones were brought. In response to our complaint, the waitress said that large spritzers were not on the menu. When we asked why she hadn't told us about this when ordering, she said that she could bring us more small spritzers. Then switched to the Old Mint, very excellent there, see the corresponding review.

I accept reservations for Mondays and are only open from Thursdays !!

Very nice half-timbered house, with 3 small typical and authentic rooms. Delicious homemade dishes.

I believe it was the oldest building in town. Food was very good German style. Decent price. The staff knows the wine to try.

Very good restaurant, good food, cozy atmosphere

We only visited the outdoor area, this one in a picturesque half-timbered house, located restaurant. Overlooking the backdrop of the historic old town, we enjoyed an excellent dinner. The service was friendly and very accommodating.

During our short break have lunch here. The staff was friendly, the food (tarte flambée) good and the drinks cold and the prices ok. We have nothing to complain about and would come again!

A good decision! Not only the most beautiful house on the square, but here you can also eat very well. Outside only limited seats and therefore much sought after. Fast and attentive service. Here the guest is still appreciated.

Schnitzel was excellent, good place to try out wine from the Rhine valley. Located in central part of Bacharach.

Loved this restaurant! You must have a reservation, we stopped in On a Saturday and there were no available tables so we made a reservation for Sunday. While we were there many people were turned away so make sure to reserve a table. Having said that, I understand why everyone wants to eat here! Menu was simple but the food was cooked beautifully. We will definately come back!

Food was too little but good from the taste. The service was overstrained and disrespectful. Tip to all who want to eat here! Take cash !!! Man is not informed that the card reader is not working! Condition partly very unfriendly and cheeky.

Decent food, good collection of local wines and friendly staff. The house is the oldest standing building in Bacharach and it feels surreal to eat there. You can even see old photos of the city and the house here.

1300’s building with classic German cuisine, local wine, and a beautiful, warm staff. A must go if you are in Bacharach.

Wonderful local food, great local wine and a building from the 1300s...highly recommend. There was one server during our long dinner so be prepared to wait a bit for the food- but it is definitely worth it!

Good local food, very old house (1392). Eaten there in the afternoon, all food freshly prepared, reasonable portions. Toilets in the backyard.

Quite good local cuisine and offer of local wines. Albeit the kitchen has limited capacity, so be ready to wait a bit if you come with a big company. Btw, a lovely inner yard terrace! (see the picture)

The hotel itself is one of the oldest building in town. We had our first meal here when we stayed in Bacharach.
